# Dosage license tiers

Working notes for the store and the lawyer. The legal limits live in [EULA.md](EULA.md), and these prices aren't in it, so they can change without touching the agreement. All paid tiers cover all four styles: Humanist, Tall, Mono and Mono Tall. The family is sold whole, with no single-style option at launch.

Every paid tier is a one-time payment for a perpetual license with unlimited web traffic. Tiers are set by the size of the buyer's team, so larger organizations pay more without anyone having to track pageviews.

## Tiers

| | Trial | Solo | Studio | Company | Larger |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Price (USD, one-time) | Free | $39 | $149 | $499 | Quote |
| Launch week | | $29 | $149 | $499 | |
| Team size | 1 | 1 | Up to 5 | Up to 25 | 26 or more |
| Web traffic | No web use | Unlimited | Unlimited | Unlimited | Unlimited |
| Games or apps | None | 1 | 3 | Unlimited | Custom |
| License length | Trial | Perpetual | Perpetual | Perpetual | Perpetual |
| Logos, print, video | No | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Character set | Basic A–Z, Humanist only | Full | Full | Full | Full |
| Commercial use | No | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes |

Custom licenses also cover the cases the EULA excludes: tools where end users type in the font, operating systems and devices, developer libraries, and storing the font on-chain.

Upgrades cost the difference at current prices. That matches EULA Section 4, and the store needs a way to apply it (a one-off discount code is enough).

## On the sales page

- **Solo:** "For one person. All your sites, one game or app."
- **Studio:** "For teams of up to 5. Three games or apps."
- **Company:** "For teams of up to 25. Unlimited games and apps."
- **What every tier gets:** one payment, yours forever, unlimited web traffic, all four styles, logos, print, video, game embedding and client work.

## Store setup (Lemon Squeezy)

- One product, with Solo, Studio and Company as variants. Each variant delivers the same files.
- Checkout must link to the EULA and record acceptance.
- Ask for the Licensee name at checkout, for companies' invoices.
- Launch code for $10 off Solo, with the end date announced.

## To build in the repo

- [ ] Trial font: a Humanist A–Z subset with its own name and name-table license text, because the current `licenseDescription` describes the commercial font. It also needs a short trial license.
- [ ] Set `licenseURL` in `src/font.json` once the EULA is online.
- [ ] Set the version to 1.000.
- [ ] Download package: `OTF/`, `TTF/` and `WOFF2/` folders with all four styles, plus the EULA and a readme saying which format to use and to set sizes in multiples of 12px.
- [ ] Show all four styles on the project and sales pages; `index.html` shows only Humanist.
- [ ] Reduced font for the web tester, so the full file isn't public.
- [ ] Remove the EULA line from `src/todo.txt` once it's published.

## Questions for the lawyer

1. **Licensor.** Should this be Michael Alexander personally, or Sanrok Studio or another entity? This depends on the tax advice on PP 20/2026.
2. **Bahasa Indonesia version.** Law 24/2009 and Presidential Regulation 63/2019 require Bahasa Indonesia for agreements involving Indonesian parties, with a foreign-language version allowed alongside it. Does this apply to online terms with foreign buyers, and which version should prevail?
3. **Governing law and disputes.** Is Indonesian law with Jakarta courts or arbitration the best choice, given that most buyers will be abroad and small claims won't justify a dispute?
4. **Reseller.** Does the wording in Section 9 fit Lemon Squeezy's seller terms, given that it's the merchant of record?
5. **Refunds and consumers.** Does the 14-day refund term conflict with EU, UK or US consumer rules, or with Lemon Squeezy's refund policy? Does checkout need a separate consent for immediate digital delivery?
6. **Limitation of liability.** Are Sections 10 and 11 enforceable under the chosen law and against consumers?
7. **Copyright position.** Fonts are protected differently from country to country, and in the US the software is protected rather than the letterforms. Do the pixel designs need other protection? Is copyright recordation with DJKI worth doing?
8. **AI and blockchain clauses.** Are Sections 5(e) and 5(h) clear and enforceable as written?
9. **Trademark.** Should "Dosage" be searched and registered, in Indonesia or elsewhere, before launch?
